Who I Am

My name is DJ Augustine and I am passionate about creating brighter futures through learning and instruction. My background as an educator and journey through both masters and doctoral level courses has provided me with a vast background of skills and foundational knowledge within the world of project development, curricular planning and instructional design.

Since 2018, I have taken on larger challenges and tasks with the goal of improving my talents within whatever organization I was a part of. In 2020, I completed my Bachelor’s of education and entered the classroom full time. My previous experiences within the schools as well as working as an intern in instructional design allowed me to apply what I knew about the value of telling a story and taking obtuse concepts and making them comprehensible for learners.

Between 2021, and 2024, I took the job of honing my skills even more seriously. Within that stretch, I was responsible as the principal curricular designer for three separate district approved curricula. Within these projects, I was tasked with envisioning how different learners would be supported, how data would be collected on growth and how this would align across several levels and grades. During this time as well, I began and completed a Master’s degree in applied technology, which only honed my skills further learning and applying how to utilize Adobe Creative Suite, different LMS systems and how to optimize learning via other storytelling platforms such as Articulate Storyline.

At present I am still teaching over 130 students annually. I am also a doctoral student at Temple University, where I am studying Educational Leadership & Organizational Development. My research focus is on how game theory & incentive based learning strategies can be leveraged for better instructional outcomes.

Project Management

I have written over 20 different scope and sequence learning plans and have successfully led teams of 20+ in reaching and succeeding objectives and targets set at the beginning of each year. This role also required multiple differentiation strategies to stay compliant legally, while also hitting proficiency targets.

Curriculum Design

I have designed curricula for a variety of purposes and learners. I have created courses for diverse English Learners with limited previous education. I created rigourous coursework focused on local history as well as adapting & revising current Honors programming to employ pedagogy from Ivy League seminar classes in the overall learning process.

Data Analysis

As a doctoral student, I have CITI certifications in order to conduct IRB sanctioned studies. I also have a deep understanding of data collection, qualitative & quantitative methods as well as data analysis in order to make data informed decisions about learning.

Instructional Design

I have created over 3000 different instructional lessons and modules for over 500 different individuals. These instructional modules range from utilizing LMS for self paced instruction, to group presentations designed to build up learners from the most basic to advanced of skills on Bloom’s Taxonomy.

Leadership & People Management

Within the classroom I manage diverse personalities and abilities, but also have been in roles over the past 5 years that involve adult training of other faculty and staff. I have provided small group technology trainings, especially during remote instruction. I also have provided full staff trainings on new initatives such as MTSS, scheduling, and conferencing.

Technology Integration

I pride myself on utilizing the most innovative types of technology to ensure instruction is not only comprehensive for learners, but is engaging. I utilize the Adobe suite of products to create various multimedia videos, as well Articulate 360, Canvas, & PowerSchool, to ensure personalized learning.
